Whether it's too much sun, too much heat or not enough water, I tend to get headaches in the summertime. I rehydrate with water or a sports drink and retreat to a cool, dark room for some Reiki. I usually doze off while giving myself Reiki, and after a short nap my headache's gone! (Be sure to check out The Mayo Clinic's article to understand when dehydration requires medical attention.)

Camping and Hiking
Reiki helps when I get cranky being away from my creature comforts Ñ such as indoor plumbing and a bed. I find it calms me down, and it helps me ground and get in touch with nature Ñ what better way to experience Reiki than with nature! It's also fun to see the beauty of nature when the Reiki is flowing. Everything is so much more vibrant!

Sleeping in the Heat
When I need to relax and cool my body temperature to get to sleep, I channel calming Reiki energy. I combine Reiki techniques with the Tien Tao Chi Kung style of meditation described by Glenn Morris in his book Path Notes of an American Ninja Master. I fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly.
