Chicago Healing Studio's Erik LaBelle, RMT, teaches Reiki I, Reiki II, and Reiki Master/Teacher courses in the Western and Japanese styles. Classes are usually held on weekends. Western-Style Classes A pre-attunement cleanse is recommended prior to the first class of each level in Western-Style Reiki. Please contact us at least 10 days before you would like to take a class so we can send you the Pre-Attunement Cleanse instructions. Reiki I Certifies students to treat themselves, family, friends, and pets without charging. Teaches history of Reiki, Reiki treatment process, and aura viewing. Attunes first 4 chakras, allowing the student to channel and focus Reiki energy. Consists of 2 5-hour classes, usually held 2 weeks apart. Costs $150, which includes book Reiki: The Healing Touch by William Rand, handouts, certificate, attunement candle, and snacks. Reiki II - Practitioner Certifies students to treat the public and charge a fee for their services. Teaches symbols for power, mental healing, and distance healing. Re-attunes first 4 chakras and also attunes the palms for additional energy flow. Consists of 2 5-hour classes, usually held 2 weeks apart. Costs $150, which includes handouts, certificate, attunement candle, and snacks. Reiki Master Certifies students to take advanced Reiki training. Teaches Reiki Master symbol. Attunes all chakras so the Reiki Master is in constant touch with the energy. Consists of 2 5-hour classes, usually held 2 weeks apart. Costs $300, which includes book Reiki Master Manual by William Rand, handouts, certificate, attunement candle, and snacks. Reiki Teacher Certifies students to teach Western-Style Reiki I, Reiki II, Reiki Master and Reiki Teacher classes. Teaches students how to perform Reiki attunements. There is no additional attunement in the Reiki Teacher class, but students do practice the Reiki I attunement on each other. Consists of 1 5-hour class. When scheduling allows, students will teach a Reiki I class under supervision, with discussion afterward. Costs $300, which includes handouts and certificate. Japanese-Style Classes Like most instructors, Erik recommends that students complete the Western-Style sequence before beginning the Japanese-Style training. The Western-Style includes attunements to the Reiki energy and a structured treatment system for substantial, tangible, immediate results when healing yourself or others. The Japanese-Style training assumes familiarity with ki and uses subtler, more intuition-based treatment methods as part of a path to enlightenment. Shoden Certifies students to treat themselves, family, friends, and pets without charging. Teaches history of Reiki, Reiki treatment process, and specific Reiki techniques. Blessing asks that students be given stronger Reiki and more control over it. Consists of 2 8-hour classes, usually held 2 weeks apart. Costs $250, which includes bound handouts and certificate. Okuden Certifies students to treat the public and charge a fee for their services. Teaches symbols and more techniques and includes more hands-on practice. Blessing asks that students be given stronger Reiki and knowledge of symbols. Consists of 2 8-hour classes, usually held 2 weeks apart. Costs $250, which includes bound handouts and certificate. Shinpiden Certifies students to teach Reiki and take advanced Reiki training. Teaches Reiki Master symbol and Teacher blessings. Blessing asks that students be given access to all Reiki knowledge. Consists of 3 8-hour classes, which may be on consecutive days. Costs $675, which includes bound handouts and certificate.
