PRIDE Parade 2007 (6/07)

We decorated the mighty blue van and recruited a fantastic team of volunteers to pass out 5,000 calendars to the crowd of 450,000 people at the 2007 Chicago PRIDE Parade. Thanks to everyone for their help!



CAREgiver Expo 2007 (6/07)

Erik provided free Reiki mini-sessions and Anna explained Reiki at Chicago Healing Studio's booth at CAREgiver Expo 2007 in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. Here's a photo of our booth before the Expo got started. We look grumpy because we had to get up at 5 AM on a Saturday!

Reiki II Class Saturday, February 3 and 17 (1/07)

On Saturday, February 3 and 17, Erik will be co-teaching Reiki II with Brian Drawert at the request of two of Brian's close friends. Chicago Healing Studio's marketing gal, Anna, will be taking this class as well. If you would like to join this class, please email erik@chicagohealingstudio.com.

Hittin' the Road (10/06)

Follow-up calls to the nearly 400 people with headaches or arthritis who received our postcard (Click here to view the PDF.) revealed that our location at 35th and Halsted is too far for many to drive. So Erik is hitting the road with his massage table and big blue van. For an extra $5 a session, he'll come to you!


CPR & First Aid Certification (10/06)

Search the internet and you'll find plenty of anecdotes about Reiki curing terminal diseases. But in every story it took repeated lengthy Reiki sessions to do so. What if a client requires immediate attention? That's why Erik attended the CPR & First Aid course at the Reiki Council and became American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Certified.


So Long, Eight:18 (10/06)

Despite last month being good, Erik has decided to stop healing at Eight:18. He appreciated the opportunity to work with so many people, but he has become increasingly frustrated by the lack of courtesy and respect shown by some guests.


Awesome Eight:18 (9/06)

At the August Eight:18 they booked 9 healers and massage therapists where there's usually 4 or 5! Erik wasn't sure he wanted to go back if it would be like that! Luckily he did, and it was a great event. All his time slots were filled by 9:30, the clients were happy with their experiences, and his tip basket was fuller than ever!
Anna, who does marketing and scheduling around here, went with Erik and helped out. We wouldn't have just any old marketing gal here, you know - she's a Reiki I graduate!


Website Update (08/06)

Improvements include updated information about Erik's recent training and lower rates, photos on the What to Expect During a Session page, more links, and this news page, which replaces the blog.


New Lower Rates (06/06)

In a bold move to appeal to potential clients and encourage frequent visits, Chicago Healing Studio has reduced Erik's rates to $20 for a Full Session and $10 for a Facelift session. We are still offering each client's first Full Session at 50% off - only $10!

After practicing Reiki for 3 years, Erik has become efficient enough to complete a Full Session in just 30 minutes, whereas less experienced Reiki healers take 60 minutes or more. This efficiency translates into lower rates and faster sessions for clients.


Japanese Style Reiki (04/06)

Erik just completed his Practitioner course in Reiki as taught by Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, the Usui Reiki society of Japan, at the Reiki Council. Truer to Sensei Usui's original teachings, this method focuses less on the chakras and more on whatever organ is causing the body dis-ease. This allows the Reiki practitioner to really resolve the root problem, not just reduce the pain.


First Reiki Class of the New Year (01/06)

New Year's Eve Event (12/05)

Erik will be providing free Mini Sessions at "Celebration of the Soul," on Dec. 31st from 7:30 to Midnight, at Yoga on State at 850 N Lake Shore Drive.

Each $10 Gift Certificate can be redeemed for a 30 minute Full Session of Reiki healing. The Gift Certificates are printed on tranquil blue stationery featuring fluffy white clouds and come with a matching envelope, information on how to schedule an appointment, what to expect during a healing session, and a copy of William Rand's article "Reiki Energy: What It Is, How Does It Heal?"
